3DS XL will get its own Circle Pad Pro

Last week, Nintendo announced the it’s newly redesigned 3DS, the 3DS XL. The new handheld features screens that are 90% bigger than the ones in the current 3DS, and the handheld as a whole is 43% bigger than the current one. Some other cosmetic changes have been made, like the face buttons all being a little bit bigger, the speaker holes have been changed and the buttons at the bottom (start, select, home) have been made easier to select. We also get a larger stylus, than leaves behind the telescoping design of the current one.

As you know, Nintendo released a peripheral called the Circle Pad Pro for the 3DS, which adds a second circle pad and a set of triggers. This pad was used to make games like Kid Icarus, Resident Evil: Revelations, and Monster Hunter easier to control. Well, now the 3DS XL is getting its own version of the Circle Pad Pro later in the year. No release date for that yet.

The 3DS XL will see its release in NA during August for $199.99.
