E3 2012: Tomb Raider – Crossroads Trailer

Poor Lara Croft. She hasn’t been this battered and bruised, since, never. A new take on the mythos, Square Enix’s and Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider is shaping up to be an amazing-looking title. I haven’t looked forward to a Tomb Raider game like this one since the second game.

A reboot of the series, the game features a 21 year old, freshly graduated Lara Croft as she attempts to survive the wilderness after an accident leaves her stranded on a island. Soon enough, she finds that she’s not alone on the island, and well, she’ll have to fight hard if she wants to make it out alive.

Check out this amazing trailer:

I’m really digging the whole Man Vs. Wild vibe the game has going on, and I love Lara’s newfound vunerability to her surroundings. She’s no longer the superhuman heroine of the old titles; instead, she’s just a normal, young girl doing her best to survive. I think that’s awesome.

Tomb Raider is scheduled to arrive on March 5, 2013, for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The game is not really a spsirure to me as I have heard of these type of sick games before. The one of Col. Custard going around raping squaws in the 80 s comes to mind. This one however, sounds like the worst of the worst and should no see the light of day or the dark of night. The bigger shocker is that Amazon would be selling the game. The ideal of there is no difference is true in a way. What is the difference from committing an illegal act on one game and committing an illegal act in another game. In all, it just desensitize those that play the games.Look at what GTA series has done. This is a game that glorifies car jackings, shoot first, and run from the law. You even pick up a hooker in the 4th one. There have been a few cases in the courts that have teens and young adults that are going around mimicking the actions of this game. At least with Tomb Raider and other similar games, there is an element of fantasy which shows difference from the real world. Was this answer helpful?
