New Releases Oct. 29

Today is a big day for gamers everywhere. Why, you might ask? Big releases, friends.

October 29:

  • Angry Birds: Star Wars (3DS) – $29.99, (PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Wii) – $39.99, (Wii U) – $49.99

Yeah, this one’s been out for a while, but it’s the first time that it’s hitting home consoles and handhelds. It’s more of the same old “fling birds at buildings,” but with a Star Wars flavor.  The prices are eye-searing though, since you can get it on iTunes for a $1!

  • Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U) – $59.99

Pirates and Assassins. Enough said. The latest entry in the long running Assassin’s Creed franchise places players in the shoes of assassin Edward Kenway as he fights across the caribbean, fights pirates and commandeers ships, and maybe gets some booty along the way. Did I mention it has pirates?

  • Battlefield 4 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) – $59.99

The next-generation of warfare is here with Battlefield 4. More players, more weapons, and new environments , complete with level-changing events that keep combat fresh. You can also upgrade to the next-gen version for $9.99, when you get the new consoles, so it’s win-win.

  • Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures – (PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U) – $39.99

In this game based on the animated series from Disney XD, players take on the role of Pac-Man as he attempts to save Pac-World from evil ghost Betrayus and his minions. It’s a third-person action adventure, so don’t expect any classic gameplay. Additionally, players get to play as the colorful ghosts Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde in a unique multiplayer mode that pits them against each other in a race to catch Pac-Man first.

  • WWE 2K14 (PS3, Xbox 360) – $59.99

2K Sports latest entry in the yearly wrestling game brings more superstars, divas and legends, and pits them against each other. It also brings three decades of matches in the form of  the 30 Years of Wrestlemania Mode (that’s a lot of wrestling!), and a slew of new improvements.
