Coming on November 4, a new update for Super Mario Maker will allow players to place mid-level checkpoints on stages, as well as Course World categories.
The new checkpoint system will allow creators to place flags in the editor to allow players to spawn at these locations upon losing a life, rather than having to start a stage right from the beginning.
Another feature of the update is power ups that depend on Mario’s status. By placing two power ups together in the editor, one will come out if Mario is small, while another will come out if he’s big.
There’s also the new Event Course category, featuring levels from partner creators such as Facebook and competition winning levels.
Super Mario Maker is now available for the Wii U.
