One of the biggest surprises out of Nintendo’s Conference earlier today is the reveal of a new feature exclusive to North America, Nintendo TVii. This exciting and innovative feature changes the way we consume content and adds an extra social element on top of that. Most notable is the removal of having to go into different apps like Netflix or Hulu to look for what shows or movies are available. Instead, you’re greeted with the homescreen above, and in each category you search for the content you wish to watch, select it, and the Wii U will show you where you can watch it, whether it be on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Live TV, or you can record it on TiVo. It will also allow for sharing and commenting, whether on social networks, and seemingly within Miiverse, all from the Wii U Gampad. It truly is an interesting new take on how to consume media, and I can’t wait to try it myself!
