See how zombies transform in the day and night of Dying Light

In this new nine-minute gameplay video for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Techland’s (of Dead Island fame) first-person survival horror title Dying Light, we get to take a look at the mission “Blackout,” some of the game’s mechanics in action, and how the night and day cycles affect zombies.

In this mission, players are tasked with restoring power to an electrical tower before the sun goes down. Zombies, however, litter the streets, so players will have to use their parkour skills to get to their destination and back before it’s too late.

What’s unique about this gameplay trailer is the day/night cycles. In the daylight, zombies are slow and easily distracted by fireworks and traps like honking cars. In the night, however, these undead creatures transform into menacing monstrosities that can run and swarm your character.

Dying Light will be available sometime in 2014 for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
