The last I’ve heard or seen of the famous vampire hunter was the horrible movie featuring Hugh Jackman as Helsing. Now the familiar name is back, and it’s going to be a game. Indie developer NeocoreGames has recently announced The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, an Action RPG heading for the PC and XBLA. Loosely based on Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula, the game features demonic battles, memorable characters, and a unique take on the famous monster hunter.
Set in a gothic-noir universe resembling 19th century Europe, and full with monsters, magic, and weird technology, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing will follow the son of the famed hunter Van Helsing. Enlisted by former supernatural foes, Helsing will help defeat a new evil that is terrorizing Borgovia.
“Being located in Eastern Europe and having experience developing RPGs, Van Helsing is a natural fit for us; it’s a project where we can demonstrate our expertise in both domains and create something novel that RPG fans can appreciate,” said Viktor Juhász, lead writer at NeocoreGames. “We’ve always enjoyed crafting games from legendary tales, but with our own twist, and Van Helsing provides us the perfect game world to experiment with.”
We also have some of the games concept art for you to check out below. Nice art, don’t you agree?
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing scheduled to be released sometime in Q4 2012.
